Childaid Network supports the street children in Guwahati. Presently there are about 200 children supported in 5 homes and a few hundred served inb day centers.
This is an initiative started by a local NGO (Snehalaya, Don Bosco) about 7 years back.
Children without parents are taken care of in fostering homes, and prepared for an independent life.
This specific project is embedded into more comprehensive activities to help all deprived children in Guwahti (bridge courses for children not going to school, day care centers for street children with families, soup kitchen, etc.)
